If you’re going to bitch about e-readers, you might as well just get off the internet and all modern technology. 

Stop:

1. Using home phones
2. Using cellular phones
3. Using computers. Throw away your computer! It promotes electronic reading of newspapers!
4. Using iPods (forget CD players too! Cassettes? NEIN! Not even a gramophone)

Do:

1. Travel long distances to talk to people, preferably via horse or on foot.
2. Use the Pony Express™ to send mail.
3. Read books written by monks. And while you’re at it, become one of the few literate people in society, aka the clergy and/or nobility.
4. Read newspapers. Oh wait, the printing press is an example of modern technology. Scrap that.

Moral of the story is: you’re not cooler for reading books in print. And you’re not cooler for reading e-books. Modern books are bound so poorly anyway. There are pros and cons for each way. Do what you want. That’s what freedom of choice is.

Read however you damn well please.
